I love my Diezel Einstein.
I mainly play a GIBSON LES PAUL BARITONE (tuned B-B), and it's one of the only heads that let's me get that hard rock/blues tone without getting too saturated.
Originally, all I was looking for was to have my amp set up for the 4 channel option. (I had purchased a SWITCH DOCTOR foot switch.) But when I read about Jens' EINSTEIN MOD I thought "Why not?" . This mod consists of adding 1 dedicated gain pots for EACH ch1 mode + foot switchable modes, as well as the "DeKompression Mod" to expand the sonic spectrum of the amp and release the dreaded factory compression.
Now I have a FOUR CHANNEL Amp that is totally foot switchable, and each channel has its own gain pod. SICK!
You see, the Decompression is controlled by an additional pot, just like volume or gain, and you can dial it in or turn it off completely.
Thank God I got it.
First of all, Jens' work is flawless. He's a "mad scientist", but i went to his studio and his work space is immaculate... as is his workmanship. Everything he does looks factory clean.
And the work speaks for itself.
The DeKompression Mod "opens up" the already awesome Diezel tone and gives it a whole new range of possibilities. It also allows the amp to "cut though" the mix when playing with a full band. (I feel like Compressed Amps can sometimes get buried). The mod lets your guitar and it's incredible tone POP.
I actually had everyone in my band listen to the amp with the DeKompression at 50% and at 100% and the band voted unanimously to keep the mod at 100%, meaning fully decompressed and open tone. My bassist said its sounded more "boutique vintage" and my drummer said it sounded "Pro". Everyone loved it. As do I.
I just think it sounds bad ass and more like my EP, which after mixing and mastering, sounds pretty darn good.
So, if you have a DIEZEL EINSTEIN, do yourself a favor and explore this mod. It's worth every penny.

Jens took my already great sounding Diezel Einstein and made it sound better!! His DeKomp mod has made my Einstein Combo so much more versatile it's silly. Highly recommended and Jens always takes your call and returns product in a fast manner!! Kudos!!!
Testimonial by Phil B. - NJ:
With the DeKompression mod and the channel one mod this amp is really a monster.
Turns out I got called for a fill in last night last minute unexpectedly so it was a great chance to hear how the amp cut with a band in an decent size venue {college auditorium}. Got a TON of compliments on how good the amp sounded and quite a few of my buddies who have heard the amp before the work were floored at how well in sat in the mix. I was pretty blown away myself to be honest, but I "wanted" it to sound good, so it was nice to have unbiased opinions. Its odd to describe it though. Jens describes it as taking a blanket off the cab, which is close I guess, but it really is just "more". Its just seems so much more massive overall.
Channel 1 mode 2 was very JCM like. I had an original JCM 800 that I had Kenny Fischer from Trainwreck completely redo, and mode 2 reminded me of that amp. What a difference!!! Channel 1 mode 3 and even channel 2 are both usable even though they are voiced differently.
I never really loved channel 2 but with the mod its much better now. Everyone talks about the VH4 and the Herbert but I dont think they come close to what this amp is now!"
I can honestly say that these mods are one of the best investments i've made with my gear throughout my playing career. The switching mod combined with the Dekrompression mod really makes the Einstein one of the most versatile and best sounding amps out there...period! The Dekompression mod really needs to be heard to understand how much of an impact it makes. The louder the amp the more of an affect it has and just really turns this amp into a monster. More clarity, more focus, and more definition while bringing out a massive bottom that tracks very well with no sag. Turning the knob to decompress and then bringing the knob back to the amp's factory high compression setting is pretty shocking.... I think anyone who is in the market for an Einstein or any Diezel for that matter owes it to themselves to at least hear this mod in person. Yes, it really makes that much of a difference. Thank You Jens"
I also want everyone to know that I am not one to "buy into the hype" so to give the mod that kind of review it really makes a huge impression.
