I just played the amp LOUD for a couple of hours. It sounds outrageous! There's a pile of gain available; the Density control gives it massive, Uberschall-like bass; and the Voicing knob yields innumerable tonal combinations. Best of all, regardless of how radically I dial it in, it retains that gorgeous Marshall roar we all know and love. In short, it's the best, most versatile Marshall I've ever had the pleasure of playing. I may just have to sell off the rest of my amp collection, because this one does it all ! This is a KILLER amp that everyone should know about. Thanks again for everything. You continue to amaze!

Update: Just thought I'd follow up and let you know that I'm really enjoying the new low-end switch. It adds a completely new tonal dimension to the amp, while also making the presence and treble controls more usable. Add in the five voicings and two gain-level inputs, and it's like the Swiss Army Knife of Marshall heads!

I got my Kruse V5 JCM800 several weeks ago, and I’m still blown away every time I power it on. The high gain tones are saturated yet articulate, and the amp is still full of Marshally goodness. The standard Marshall EQ is complemented by a Depth control which really adds (or removes) chug and that deep dimension to the tone. The 5-way voicing knob itself is a blast to play with, the voicings have different characteristics to them that change the overall feel/sound of the amp. On any voicing though, this amp cuts through a band mix very very well, even with the Mids at noon or lower (though I personally prefer them around 2 or 3 o clock). I brought my V5 over to a buddy’s house where we A/B’d it with some major names (Bogner, Cameron, EVH, Boogie, and other modded Marshalls). The V5 didn’t just hold its own, it was just as good if not better than those amps, which is remarkable considering the V5 mod is a fraction of the price of the aforementioned amps. - Zack C.
