The VH4 sounds AMAZING. What a great sounding amp! After your Variac Mod, DeKompression Mod and re-tube it simply KILLS !

I have a Diezel VH4 and receuved the Decompression mod. In a live situation I always paired the VH4 with other amps to accent the tonal landscapes the VH4 was missing. After the modification, it sounded as if a thick blanket was removed from the speaker cabinet, giving it a more raw and open sound… quite hard to believe, considering the VH4 and is one the best amps in the world. Jens also suggested a different set of tubes which helped the overall sound to have more depth and power. The amp still retains the characteristics Diezel is known for, Kruse Kontrol just added some great nuances that now make it a stand alone amplifier.

The Kruse Kontrol DeKompression mod has added an entirely new dimension to my VH4. It’s allowing me to access a wider range of frequencies through my playing that were previously suppressed by the amp’s standardized compression setting. The result of the new installation is much tighter response overall, with plenty of punch and dynamic capability. With the mod I feel much more confident and in control over my playing, as there is less emphasis on specific gain and tone knob settings and more on the actual sound of the amp. I recommend this mod to any guitar player who is serious about bringing out the best in their amp’s true sound, as well as in their playing.

I've always had a love/hate relationship with the extreme amount of compression that is in my Diezel VH4. With the mod everything is so much clearer now, and it even allows me to use Ch.4 of the VH4, which I've previously found unusable as a rhythm channel, as yet another tight channel for heavy distorted Rhythm. So Very Cool. At a gig recently, I had someone come up to me at a show recently, who told me he also owns a VH4, that my amp definitely sounds better than theirs, and is the best sounding VH4 they have ever heard! This Mod is Highly Recommended, and I can't wait to see what it might do to some of my other amps!
